February 2024 Retail Outlook

Buying in the off season cold yield you a big savings. I have noticed that there are a large variety of John Deere corn and grain heads advertised for sale by dealers across the central states.

Dealers in South Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Indiana have a large number of 612C corn heads. They range in age from 2011 to 2014. The average asking price for a 2011 averages $35,500, and a 2013 will run you somewhere around $36,200. The 2014 models edged up a bit, to around $51,000. Later model corn heads such as the 2022 C12R are listed at an average price of $144,300.

Several Iowa and South Dakota dealers have a good stock of John Deere 635F grain heads. You can expect to pay around $13,300 for a 2011 model and $13,900 for a 2012. Later model grain heads such as these RD40F 2021 to 2022 models are advertised for an average price of $107,200 at Iowa dealers.

Do your homework before you buy! Price is not always the reason to purchase from this seller. Make sure the seller has a good reputation whether individual or dealership. Questions like, are they known to stand behind what they sell, and are their sales pitches truthful. These are things you need to know before you buy. Check with others that have done business with this person or business so you are sure to get the best bang for your buck. You are putting out a lot of money, so purchase wisely.

As always condition has to be taken in to account on the asking price of any used item. No matter what the location.
